MAUSER – A PROFESSIONAL’S CHOICE

When it comes to Big Game hunting, there is always one action first choice by Professional Hunters: The Mauser 98. Here comes a nice example of german gunmaker Büchsenmacher Schiller : Schiller took a DWM Mauser Argentino 09 with original safety, barrellength is 23″ with a 3/4 rail and 50 and 100 m rear sight notch without scope mount. The rifle has a matt oil finish and weighs 4,2 kg. It’s all special made for an african PH who needs a reliable tool for hunting and protecting the life of his clients.

This classic Working Rifle has the old african caliber .404 Jeffery. Developed at the beginning of the 20th century, it became one of the most succesful Elephant calibers ever. (Yes! Not the .416 or others!) Cartridges were made by different manufacturers, among those german DWM and RWS, who named it as 10,75 x 73. Famous african hunter John “Pondoro” Taylor considered the .404 Jeffery to be the best compromise of power, recoil and straight line penetration ever.
